Marv and Me: Hey, Stephen. Let's get a new baby!

Stephen: NO! Wanna get a dog!

ETA: So many of you asked if this was a pregnancy announcement that I just had to add, "NO! Wanna get a dog!"
  • Awww... that's so cute. :)
Are you guys actively trying for #2? How exciting!
  • HAHAHAHAHA!! Oh my aching sides!

Kids sure have their strong opinions on the subject of potential siblings.
  • Hey, at least he knows where he stands. And you know, too!
  • haha dogs and toddlers - same thing
    • I think so too! But at least toddlers won't need you to wipe their butts forever. ;)
      • Exactly what I was thinking earlier!

Dog - lifespan 10-12 years, all of it requiring pooper scooper.
Kid - in diapers/potty training 1-4 years depending on child.

Kids however can be given the pooper scooper chore. My 12 yr old has to take care of the cat box. Muahahaha.
        • I remember in jr. high, one of the girls came to school and she just reeked. Turned out that she'd stepped in the cat litter before coming to school and didn't clean off her shoes good enough. Hope cat litter isn't as stinky anymore or else warn your son! :P
          • Some people get the wheat or clay loose litters. Those are smellier than the crystals or clumping litters. I get the TidyCats Scoopable Litter, usually the 'multiple cats immediate odor control' type. Even though we have just the one cat, we don't want catbox smell lingering. Also, Monkey Boy has to scoop the box at -least- twice per week. The covered catbox in its not-human-traffic-location also prevents accidental stepping-in-the-box issues.

Although, I've never heard of anyone doing that... LOL, maybe she was just a clutz.
  • Ha! That's so...kid ;).
  • stephen is a smart boy! he knows that a dog won't fight with him for attention from his parents. instead, he gets to have playmate and be the center of the attention!
  • Stephen's idea of getting a dog is far much creative than my greedy Joey's of getting more Macdonald fries.
  • Too funny! LOL!
    • Consider how many questions I got about whether I was pregnant or not, this post was about as misleading as your post about hubby and landmarks! LOL
  • Oh, darn! I thought this was an announcement!!
  • Boy, you're not wasting any time after the big birthday bash, eh?
  • Whenever I ask Paul where the baby is, he points to my belly. Then he points to HIS belly. I wonder if Stephen would do the same thing? Probably not, since he's older.
    • When one of our friends was hugely pregnant, we told Stephen there was a baby in her belly. He tried to life up her shirt to take a peek!
  • Niels and Stephen have a lot in in common these days! Niels said the same thing.
  • I thought you were deviously announcing some big news, too! :O
  • So are you going to fulfill Stephen's desire of keeping a dog? ;)

I'd also like to wish him a Happy 3rd Birthday! His cake looked great on the previous post and the candles are so unique. It's the first time I've seen crayon candles. :)
  • hey! i thot you r announcing no. 2 here.
  • hehe, i used to say that to my mum too. i would poke at her stomach and tell her to give me a sibling, preferably a baby sister. i would say, "mummy, tomorrow ok? i want a baby sister by tomorrow. remember ah." hehe.

anyway, it was lonely growing up as a single child.
    • it was lonely growing up as a single child.

I'm sorry you felt that way. :( Conversely, some people with siblings wish they had be only children! :P
  • so is it dog or baby? tell me!
  • both mayb? dog n baby :)
  • so are you going for the dog or the baby ? Ryan has said "WHEN we get a dog ..."
